[android-developers] Re: BG threads with 1.6; is the AlarmManager starving?

OK, but my application is not running at the time.  Does that mean it goes into the foreground thread pool even if there is no window?  There is supposed to be a notification drawn on the top left but that might not qualify the code into the foreground.

BroadcastReceiver is invoked on "the UI thread", which is to say, the
primary thread for your application.
